Position Overview: As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at NorthView Service Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our customers’ trucks, trailers and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out regular maintenance and repair tasks on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including working on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and brake systems.
- Diagnose Issues: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify mechanical problems and determine necessary repairs.
- Replace Parts: Install or replace worn or damaged components and systems to restore equipment to optimal performance.
- Conduct Inspections: Execute detailed inspections to detect potential issues and ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain Records: Keep precise records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used to track equipment history and service requirements.
- Collaborate on Complex Problems: Work with team members to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical issues, sharing expertise and solutions.
- Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest industry developments and technological advancements in heavy-duty truck maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty systems including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- A Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Relevant certifications are an asset, but we are willing to offer training to the right candidate.
